It may be a wet weekend, says weatherman
The north east monsoon which has not been active for nearly a week now, is expected to gain momentum from Saturday due to the effect of a low pressure that has formed in the Bay of Bengal, says weatherman.

As a result, many coastal areas in Tamil Nadu are expected to witness moderate to heavy showers in the next 48 hours.
Following is the summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 8.30 am on Friday. Rainfall has occurred at isolated places all over Tamil Nadu.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Tamil Nadu: Rameswaram and Pamban (Ramanathapuram Dist) 2 each. According to a release from the weatherman, the sky is expected to remain overcast for the next 48 hours. They have also forecast moderate to heavy showers in several parts of the southern districts. Some areas in the northern coastal districts may also experience intermittent downpour, they say.
