The team headed by local tahsildar reached the MLA’s office at 7.30 pm and evacuated supporters of Kothandapani before sealing the building.
Locals alleged that Kothandapani and his supporters visited the government building regularly, even after he was disqualified as an MLA for supporting TTV Dinakaran.
Sources also claimed that ever since Kothandapani joined the TTV camp, the legislator’s office was also used by the sidelined leader’s supporters to discuss intra party affairs. However, tahsildar office employees claimed that they had sealed the building on the orders of the Kancheepuram Collector.
With the office of the Thiruporur MLA sealed, other disqualified MLAs are also likely to face similar action soon, sources said.
The MLAs belonging to TTV Dinakaran’s camp were disqualified by speaker P Dhanapal after they gave a letter to Tamil Nadu Governor withdrawing their support to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
