When the arguments resumed on Wednesday, Senior counsel Abishek Manu Singhvi appearing for TTV and Sasikala contended that the other side had failed to comply with the court’s direction to submit the party accounts.

To this, Senior Counsel C S Vaidyanathan appearing for OPS contended that the documents has been handed over to the court in a sealed cover. Immediately heated arguments ensued with Singhvi contending that they ought to have been served a copy.

But Venugopal argued that Dhinakaran and Sasikala were part of an unregistered body and had no role in the party after the Election Commission of India (ECI) had recognised EPS and OPS as the real AIADMK.

Justice C V Karthikeyan said that the details were given in a sealed cover and handed over to the Registry. He also opined that the plaintiff must be served a copy.

To this, Vaidyanathan quipped that the plaintiffs were not a legal entity and have no stake in seeking the document.

On the other hand, Singhvi claimed that ECI is not a court and there existed AIADMK Amma and AIADMK Purathchi Thalaivi Amma when the suit was filed. The judge adjourned the matter to December 21.
