OPS reviews damage in areas hit by storm
O Panneer Selvam visited the Kanyakumari district on Sunday and reviewed the damages caused by Ockhi cyclone and ensured compensation at the earliest. He visited Therisanagoppu, Thadikarrankonam and Azhagiyapandipuram in Thovalai taluk and officials to enumerate them for proper compensation.

He said that power supply has been cut to prevent incidents. “Departments like revenue, police and fire and rescue have been jointly conducting the rescue operations,” he said.
Earlier, Ministers D Jayakumar, RB Udayakumar and P Thangamani reviewed the ongoing works in the district. Electricity minister Thangamani said that power supply is being gradually restored in the district and around 2000 employees have been roped in for it. They also instructed the officials to accelerate the restoration works at earliest.
