He also said the AIADMK was not behind the pamphlets circulated in RK Nagar on Tuesday charging VK Sasikala with the murder of Jayalalithaa. Some unknown group had distributed the pamphlets, he said and added that even Dinakaran’s supporters could have done so as to justify the release of the video.
Jayakumar said the state government had set up an enquiry commission to investigate the death of Jayalalithaa and those having any evidence should submit it to the commission. He wondered why the video clip was not submitted to the Arumughasamy Commission and demanded stern action against those who released it.
Tamilisai terms it a crime:
BJP state president Tamilisai Soundarrajan termed shooting the video of a Chief Minister in ICU as a crime and asked how the hospital allowed it to happen. She also pointed out that the hospital had said it had not shot the video and asked who took the video.
They had concealed the video till now and released it a day before the RK Nagar polling day, she said. The evidence should have been submitted to the Arumughasamy Commission, she added. Terming it as a detestable act, Tamilisai said it was illegal and said it would impact the voters on the eve of bypoll.
She also pointed out that Apollo Hospitals founder Pratap Reddy had confirmed that Jayalalithaa was brought to the hospital in a serious condition. It should be known at what stage of recovery the video was shot, she said.
Tamilisai also pointed out that the hospital had said it had not shot the footage and added no permission would be given to shoot videos of anyone in ICU.
