This follows the deposition of Jayalalithaa’s Chief Advisor Sheela Balakrishnan and AIADMK member PA Joseph, Rama Mohana Rao visited the Kalas Mahal and spent four hours talking to Justice A Arumughswamy, who is handling the probe. Earlier, Sheela Balakrishnan refused to divulge any details of her testimony after her deposition, but Mohana Rao did address the press for a few minutes and insisted that ‘justice must prevail in this case, at all costs’. “
The Justice asked me many questions and I have responded to all of them in a detailed manner. I’m not at liberty to reveal much, but I did answer a question about the meeting in Apollo Hospitals regarding the Cauvery water dispute,” said Mohana Rao.
This corroborates the earlier reports that Jayalalithaa met some senior officers, including Sheela Balakrishnan, for an hour during her time at Apollo and discussed the Cauvery issue, which is pending in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, Anna Square police on Thursday registered another FIR against Vetrivel, based on a complaint from Arumughaswamy inquiry Commission on the leaking of Jayalalithaa’s video, allegedly taken at Apollo. Anna Square police had registered a case under five sections of the IPC, including 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using a forged record as genuine), 176 (omission to give notice or information to public servant by person legally bound to give), 177 (furnishing false information) and 189 (threat of injury to a public servant). The complaint from the commission was lodged by its Secretary, N Panneerselvam.
