Talking to newspersons, Mr Anabzhagan detailed the financial crisis since, the government will have to repay the principal amount along with interest obtained ten years back from 2018 and said that he got information that the government is planning to divert the salary of the government employees and funds meant for several other schemes to repay the loan. If this method was adopted, the development of the Union Territory will severely be hit, he said.
Mr Anbazhagan charged that a group is deliberately cheating the government on revenue and added that they are always found around the Chief Minister. They are claiming that there is no need to pay entertainment tax for Cable TV and the government should collect it from the subscribers. If the entertainment tax for cable TV was collected for ten years, the government will get a revenue of Rs 100 crore, he said and urged the Lt Governor to intervene.
He said that hotel owners are planning to evade entertainment tax by printing two different tickets. While collecting Rs 9,000 from a customer, they will show a ticket for Rs 500 to the government. Further, they will join hands with municipal authorities and commit irregularities, he alleged.
Mr Anbazhagan said thousands of cooperative and public sector employees are without salary for several months, orders are being issued to pay salary to the 3 BJP nominated members. The Lt Governor has stated that they are eligible to draw salary as per the law.
Asked about Rajya Sabha Member Gokula krishnan meeting TTV Dinakaran, Mr Anbazhagan said that it is his stand and we are with the AIADMK led by Edappadi K Palaniswami.
