Students of Corporation Higher Secondary School at Samuvelpuram in Thoothukudi, said that the entire district should turn green. Also, organic cultivation should be practiced in the district and the environment should be conserved by avoiding chemical fertilizers.
Students of Chandy Engineering College asked the district administration to implement schemes related to rainwater harvesting and to take steps to increase ground water table. Similarly, students of APCV Mahalaxmi
College at Thoothukudi said that in neighbouring states, much stress is given to green farming and farmers too are well-equipped in green farming. A similar training should be given to Thoothukudi farmers to practice green farming.
Later, the Collector said that the program is being conducted with the objective to obtain diversified views from the younger generation.
As students are the future, their views hold greater importance in the society.
District administration will work towards realising their dreams, said the Collector.
