In a letter written to Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, DMK working president MK Stalin on Friday demanded that the national level examinations should be conducted in Tamil language.
In his letter, Stalin said, “Grave injustice is being done to lakhs of aspiring youth in Tamil Nadu due to the gross discriminatory procedure in the national level examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.
As you are aware, this statutory autonomous body is in charge of conducting qualifying competitive examinations for Group ‘B,’ Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ posts in various Central government offices throughout the country.” The question papers for the competitive examinations are set in both Hindi and English and it gives greater advantage to the candidates appearing from northern regions compared to those from the southern region- especially from Tamil Nadu, he said.
