Anubhuti coach for Chennai-Kovai Shatabdi from R-day

A SR release said, accordingly, Train No 12243/12244 Chennai Central-Coimbatore Chennai Central Shatabdi express trains would be augmented by an ‘Anubhuti’ coach from January 26. This augmentation was a temporary and the trains will have the ‘Anubhuti’ coach for two months from January 26 to March 26 this year. Advance reservations for travel by ‘Anubhuti’ coach were open.

On the salient features of ‘Anubhuti’ coach, the release said it has improved interiors, ergonomically designed seats and improved modular toilets with hands-free taps. It also has overhead reading lights for every seat and the coach has diffused LED lighting.

The ‘Anubhuti’ coach was equipped with GPS based passenger system and has a special exterior painting with anti-graffiti coating. The coach also has the potential to run at high speed. The fare for travel by ‘Anubhuti’ coach was fixed at 1.2 times of the Executive class fare of Shatabdi trains. Other charges such as reservation fee, superfast surcharge, GST, as applicable would be levied separately.

It said while normal rules pertaining to child fare would apply, concessional tickets and free complimentary passes, which were not fully reimbursed would not be allowed.
