Speaking to reporters, Thambidurai strongly condemned the national parties saying that Tamil Nadu has a strong root of Dravidian ideology and fondness to Tamil language and that very thought forced the students to organise a massive jallikattu protest and it is evident that the spirit is still alive.

Stating that the Congress was defeated in the 1951 elections in Tamil Nadu, Thambidurai said there are no chances for national parties in the state by any form.

He also added that CN Annadurai founded a party after involving himself with Periyar and later, MGR started the party, after involving himself with Annadurai and so did Jayalalithaa, who ruled the state with much devotion to Dravidian spirit.

On actors forming their political party, he said it will never affect the AIADMK and added in a democratic country, anyone can form a government but, those actors who start their party can certainly neither become Annadurai nor MGR and recalled that MGR floated a party not to rule the state but to carry on the Dravidian ideology, Thambidurai stressed.
