According to police, G Mohan, an MBA graduate and resident of Suramangalam Railway Nagar in Salem, is working as a manager in a private firm in Chennai.
“He came to the hospital at noon and doused himself with petrol and set fire with a lighter. Screaming aloud, Mohan ran into the hospital causing shock and panic among public. He then fell in front of the office of the hospital dean,” police said.
Immediately the hospital staff and public poured water on him and doused the fire. He was then rushed into the intensive care unit of the hospital in a critical condition. During police enquiry, Mohan told that he took the extreme step over some property dispute.
Despite petitioning the district collector, Mohan claimed there was no action on the issue.
