Work on library in memory of Anitha begins

The foundation stone for medical aspirant S Anitha’s memorial was laid at her hometown Kuzhumur in Ariyalur on Wednesday.

S Mairanthnam, Anitha’s eldest brother, said, “We will establish the library in our village for the welfare of students who aspire to become doctors, engineers, and for those preparing for UPSC and TNPSC examinations. Books would be made available to the candidates for competitive examinations. This library would be made available for students from Kuzhumur and villages across Ariyalur district. The library will also have newspapers and magazines in Tamil and English,” he said. 

“There will soon be a coaching centre above the library in the near future. We are also setting up a trust in our sister’s name called ‘Doctor Anitha Memorial Charitable Trust’ to aid underprivileged students from Kuzhumur and villages across Ariyalur.” Manirathnam added. The library is being set up in an area of 1,000 sq ft at a cost of Rs 2 lakh.
