Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Union Minister did not elaborate on the timing of the Prime Minister’s visit, but said the discussions were focused on the arrangements.

He also denied Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam’s claims that the latter had merged his party with the ruling AIADMK on the advice of the PM. “I don’t see the PM involved in matters related to the merger of the AIADMK factions and he would not have given such an advice.

Even within the BJP, when people approach him on party affairs, he asks them to contact the party leadership,” he said. Radhakrishnan also said he discussed the harbour projects in the state. To a specific question on the participation of the BJP in the all-party meeting on Cauvery, he said the state unit of the party would take a decision on it.
