The commission is set to reconvene on March 6 after a week-long hiatus due to Justice Arumughasamy’s illness. Speaking after a public meeting in his constituency, Dinakaran said that it appears that the general public is losing faith in the commission and are unsure of where the investigation is headed.
In a thinly veiled reference to Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, he added that the commission has failed to send summons to those who must really be probed - particularly those who conducted the ‘dharma yuddham’.
He also clarified that the controversial video of Jayalalithaa that was taken during her treatment at Apollo Hospitals was shot with her consent.
The probe panel has sent summons to personal staff of Jayalalithaa to appear for depositions once the hearing resumes next week. Jayalalithaa’s driver Kannan is to appear on March 6.
Jayalalithaa’s cook Sekhar and her other driver Iyappan are set to appear before the commission on March 7 and 8 respectively.
