The Deputy Chief Minister came to the wedding of former minister TP Poonachi’s son. While arriving at Tiruchy, Panneerselvam said, the stance of the state government on constitution of Cauvery Management Board and Water Regulation Committee within six weeks of the verdict has been clearly explained by the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary in the meeting of the Chief Secretaries of four states held in Delhi. “We hope, the CMB and Water Regulation Committee would certainly be established within the deadline of six weeks,” Panneerselvam added.

Further he stated that the government would soon open the sand quarries across the state according to a court order. “At the same time, permitting private parties to mine sand is yet to be decided. We will let you know when the time comes,” said Panneerselvam.
