Ex-judge to head VC search panel for Annamalai University
Governor Banwarilal Purohit has nominated Justice CV Ramulu, former Judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court as member of the search committee of Annamalai University for recommending a panel of three names to the Chancellor for appointment of next Vice-Chancellor of the university.

A Raj Bhavan communiqué here on Monday said the incumbent Vice-Chancellor is due to demit office on May 27, 2018.
Justice Ramulu had practiced as a senior lawyer in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh before he was elevated as High Court Judge and enjoys experiences in a variety of fields such as constitutional law, service law, labour laws, laws, rules and regulation related to Customs and Central Excise and transport.
As Chancellor’s nominee Justice Ramulu will function as the convener of the search committee.
The other members of the committee are Dr C Thangamuthu, former vice-chancellor of Bharathidasan University, the Syndicate nominee and Retired IAS official SP Elangovan, former Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Transport Development Finance Corporation Ltd, the government nominee.
The functions of the search committee include maximising the pool of candidates by a notification of the vacancy in newspapers and University website and by inviting nominations from distinguished academicians.
After study of the applications received in the prescribed format, the Committee will prepare a panel of three candidates with a brief write-up of their suitability and submit it to the Chancellor.
