Intervening DMK legislator K Pitchandi during the budget debate, Palaniswami wondered what the DMK did when it was part of the Union government headed by the BJP and enjoyed power? Earlier, participating in the debate, Pitchandi accused the AIADMK government of functioning at the instance of the BJP.
“We have been stalling the Parliament to exert pressure on the Centre to constitute CMB in six weeks as per the Supreme Court order,” said the CM, who has been facing criticism for not being as vociferous as his Andhra counterpart Chandrababu Naidu.
“They (TDP) are moving a no-confidence because their request (related to Andhra) has not been met with. Ours is different. No one expressed solidarity with us,” the CM reasoned. Not content with the CM’s reply, Leader of Opposition MK Stalin joined the issue with his MLA. This led to a war of words with Fisheries Minister Jayakumar, Leader of the House O Panneerselvam and Deputy Leader of Opposition accusing each other.
