VAO seeks bribe for sand, suspended
Village Administrative Officer (VAO) of Sandavasal was suspended on Wednesday after a video of him demanding bribe went viral on social media. He was demanding money for allowing transport of illegally mined sand.

Official sources said Senthilnathan (30) used to take bribe from those ferrying sand in carts, tractors and lorries.
A couple of days ago, he allegedly stopped tractors and carts carrying sand from Kamandala Naganadhi River and demanded bribe. This resulted in an argument and someone secretly recorded this and uploaded the video on social media. After the video grabbed the attention of RDO Uma Maheswari, she ordered an inquiry and suspended the VAO.
