Wild elephant kills woman in TN's Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve
A 26-year-old woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in the district, forest officials said today.

Sivanna (30) of Koothanapuram village, his wife Rajammal and their two daughters, were walking through the forest to reach their village, after attending a temple festival last night.
It was then the elephant appeared before them and tried to attack the family.
Immediately, the four took to their heels, but Rajammal fell down.
The pachyderm trampled her and fled into the jungle, officials said.
However, Sivanna with his two girls reached the village safely and informed the villagers.
Rajammal was rushed to a hospital nearby but died on the way, the officials added.
