Tiruvallur, Erode and Kanniyakumari are the latest districts in which lengthy consultations and interviews have led to the representatives of the Mandram being appointed over the course of the last few days.
When contacted, a source in Rajini’s camp tells us that meetings in fewer than 10 districts are yet to be conducted, after which the appointment for Rajini Makkal Mandram will finally be completed.
“The aim was to unite all Rajinikanth’s supporters under one banner, make all the fans official, and then move forward. We are confident that office-bearers across the state shall be appointed by the end of this month – all under the supervision of Rajinikanth himself. We expect the Chennai office-bearers to be selected after much scrutiny as they would be vital in the long run. After that, preparations for the launch of the party shall begin in earnest.”
However, no further information on whether the launch would happen on April 14, Tamil New Year’s Day in Tiruchy, could be confirmed. The source adds that after Rajinikanth’s return from the Himalayas, the actor-turned-politician is revitalised and that the people can expect another statement of intent from him shortly.
