In a statement on Monday K Balakrishnan, state secretary of CPM, said “Supreme Court Chief Justice has observed that in the final verdict, it has been mentioned as a scheme that can mean anything.” There is no clarification in his observation, he added.

Even though the Supreme Court had already passed a ruling that the CMB should be formed by the Centre within six weeks, the Chief Justice’s observation has raised many questions. “However, the state government, without delay, should immediately file a petition seeking clarification. The state government should continuously exert pressure on the Centre and file counter petitions in accordance with the issues,” he said and sought support of people of the state, until the CMB is formed.

Similarly, R Mutharasan, state secretary of CPI, has expressed concern over the apex court’s observation over the CMB. “The CPI will stage rail roko, condemning the Centre. The Centre, which maintained silence till March 29 by not constituting the CMB, has again moved the Court seeking clarification,” he said and questioned that why it did not approach court earlier, if it had doubts over the judgment.

Similarly, PMK, which announced total shutdown on April 11, has said that the party will participate in all the agitations by various movements and political parties against the Centre for failing to set up the CMB.

Similarly, VCK has announced various protests. “We will hold protests against the Centre in all the district headquarters,” said a statement.
