2 quacks held in Krishnagiri, Salem districts
Two persons, who had studied only up to Class 12, were caught practicing allopathic medicine in Salem and Krishnagiri districts and have been arrested.

In Salem, officials of the Revenue Department on Tuesday sealed the clinic of Sultana, who was treating patients with allopathic medicines and had even performed abortions illegally. The Theevattipatti police registered a case and arrested Sultana. A college student, who had undergone an abortion in her clinic, died of severe stomach pain a few days ago.
In another incident, the Krishnagiri district police arrested Pounraj, 35, a Class 12 dropout and native of Karadiyoor for running a clinic in Poochapalli taluk.
Acting on a tip off, police personnel caught the quack red-handed while he was administering an injection to a sick patient at his clinic.
