Son kills father for refusal to watch IPL match

Police said Annamalai (60), a civil contractor and resident of Arakkonam, was watching a Tamil serial on Wednesday night when his son Nandakumar (38)asked him to change the channel to watch an IPL cricket match. 

When Annamalai refused and told him that he could watch the match when the serial was over, Nandakumar entered in an altercation with his father. Soon, Nandakumar attacked him with an iron crowbar and bludgeoned him to death before escaping from the house.Neighbours rushed to the house after hearing the father’s cries and found him lying in a pool of blood. 

Nandakumar was arrested near the Arakkonam railway station within two hours, said police sources.
