Dwelling long on the internal dissensions in Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam at the protest for the CMB, Dhinakaran said, “I am the one who respect relatives and friends. At the same time only the party and the cadre are my life,” he said adding, “No one should fall into the trap of the enemies and the betrayers.”

He also urged the party cadre to be careful in reacting to social media posts and verify whether the post was true.

On Cauvery issue he said, “We will wait till May 3 (the hearing in Supreme Court). Till then the protests for CMB would be held at Tiruvarur and at Mayiladuthurai in Nagappattinam district, he pointed out.

Dhinakaran also flayed the increase of petroleum and diesel prices and demanded that the Centre should change the policy of allowing oil companies to decide the prices.

The state government under Edappadi K Palaniswami had not taken any action to mitigate the people’s suffering and it only showed that it had no concern for the people, Dhinakaran added.

He also appealed to the state government to end the disparity of salary among the teachers, who are performing the same job, besides having the same educational qualification.

On the teachers’ agitation, he said the state government should realise the importance of the issue and invite them for negotiations.

More than 7,000 teachers, who had commenced a hunger strike, had been arrested and kept in Rajarathinam stadium. They are continuing their agitations in the stadium itself, he said and pointed out that the family members of the teachers, including children are involved in the protest.
