In a video released on social media, Kamal talks to the public at large – “They polluted the air, then they polluted the lake too. Only when water flows, it qualifies as a river – if there is only rubbish, it is sewage. Where trees are meant to grow, we have a heap of garbage. Where traffic is meant to flow, we have rain water.”
He adds, “There are thousands of such atrocities and acts of injustice all around us – and the fundamental reason for this is our indifference. We have been silent spectators, that’s the main problem. But from now on, don’t turn a blind eye. Download and register on the app, take pictures of the issue and post it. Your whistle will be heard.” The video shows a series of unjust acts across the city. Then Kamal demonstrates clicking a photo of the same and sending it to the Maiam Whistle app. However, how exactly the team plan to act on these messages has not been revealed.
Meanwhile, advocate Rajasekharan, who left his role as a key party member stated that he still offers his full support and backing to the MNM.
