The office-bearers present were informed that it will be a policy that not more than one member from a family will be able to hold positions within Rajinikanth’s soon-to-be formed political party.
Mahalingam addressed all districts functionaries of the Rajini Mandram along with chief coordinator Sudhakar. The Rajini Makkal Mandram was established as a nodal organisation for all the fan clubs of Rajinikanth across the state. Efforts to consolidate the membership and establish an organisational structure has been underway since Rajinikanth’s announcement of his entry into politics last December.
He also addressed criticism faced by Rajinikanth from various members of political parties and the film fraternity on a range of issues by reiterating Rajinikanth’s comment that such criticism is inevitable once one chooses to enter public life and that he will take constructive feedback.
Mahalingam also said that if the people are looking for an honest, upright and calm leader, then Rajinikanth is ideal. He added that Rajinikanth has expressed satisfaction at the performance of the elected office-bearers thus far.
Rajini is currently in the USA for a personal visit and is expected to return in 10 days. Anticipation has mounted that he will make a formal announcement about the launch of his party on return, but at a press meet prior to his departure Rajinikanth was tight-lipped about a possible date for the launch of his party.
