The A division Bench comprising Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh and Justice M Dhandapani on conceding with the petitioner’s demand of students safety and inability of economically backward students affording to travel, said, “In view of these circumstances, we direct CBSE that in respect of candidates who have been allotted centres in Kerala, Rajasthan or other states, shall be allotted centres adjacent to their place of residence or at least in TN.”

“The revised allotment shall be intimated to the candidates by CBSE through their website or newspaper. Those who have been allotted centres elsewhere can start applying at local NEET exam centres and get fresh allotment at the earliest,” the bench added.

The petitioner had submitted that candidates who applied from Tamil Nadu were allotted the NEET examination centres in other states and not according to their three choices within the state as mentioned in their applications. The NEET exam is scheduled to be held across the country on May 6.
