Kamal plans to tour seven districts in May and June
Actor- turned-politician Kamal Haasan will be undertaking a tour of various districts across the state as part of his journey with the people, which has been the calling card for his political campaign. The itinerary sees the Makkal Needhi Maiam president visit seven districts over the next two months, according to his recently announced tour plan.

Kamal Haasan will be at Kanniyakumari and Thoothukudi on May 16 and 17. He is set to visit Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli on May 18.
The 63-year-old will be present in the textile hub of Tirupur on June 8. He is slated to meet people in The Nilgiris on June 9 and Coimbatore on June 10.
Kamal had previously visited Thoothukudi to show solidarity with the people of the region in their protests against the operation and expansion of Sterlite Industries’ copper smelting plant.
The Makkal Needhi Maiam has also expanded its outreach efforts with the hosting of a mock gram sabha to demonstrate the functions of the institution. Kamal has urged people from villages across Tamil Nadu to take part in the gram sabhas that will be convened on May 1.
The party is also scheduled to launch the Maiam Whistle App on April 30. The app is a tool for members to report any issues that affect the people of Tamil Nadu.
