NEET: Over 15,000 write exam in Madurai and Tirunelveli

Over 15,000 aspirants from the southern districts wrote the NEET-UG examination in Madurai and Tirunelveli on Sunday. 

In Madurai, 11,800 aspirants had applied and out of them, 11,341 appeared for the exam. In Tirunelveli, out of the 4,380 aspirants who had applied, 4,231 wrote the exam.  

Long sleeves of dresses worn by girl students, who appeared for the exam, were cut short by officials at the exam centres and students wearing only half-sleeves were allowed inside the centres. Students who had studied in government schools and took NEET coaching in government centres, felt the question paper was tough.
