Anandakumar (28) of Periyankuppam near Ambur, who owned a cell phone shop in the locality, was found dead in a well at Nacharkuppam on Monday. Sandhya, the victim’s wife who was present at the Collectorate, said that her husband was instrumental in getting his brother Vignesh married to a girl he was in love with, despite objections from the girls’ family. She also alleged that the girls’ family had threatened him of dire consequences.
Sandhya and her relatives fell to their knees at the Collectorate and rolled on the floor pleading for justice for Anandakumar’s death.
Police recovered Anandakumar’s body and his two-wheeler from the well and sent his body to the Ambur government hospital for post mortem. They were also investigating Sandhya’s charge that Anandakumar was murdered and then his body was thrown into the well to make it appear
as a suicide.
