Apollo doctors depose before one-man commission
Apollo Hospitals diabetologist Dr Jaishree Gopal deposed before the one-man Justice A Arumughasamy enquiry commission probing the death of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa at Kalas Mahal.

Dr Jaishree said that she checked on Jayalalithaa on December 4, 2016. The chief minister was doing fine on the day, but she experienced a cardiac arrest later in the evening. Dr Ramachandran of Apollo Hospitals also deposed on Tuesday. Dr Shantaram and dermatologist Dr Muralidharan have been sent summons for Wednesday.
The Arumughasamy commission had requested the state government for the formation of a medical committee to go over the documents submitted by the Apollo Hospitals regarding the treatment provided to Jayalalithaa. The state government granted the Commission permission the form the committee by itself.
The medical committee is expected to be constituted shortly. Jayalalithaa’s school friend and former AIADMK MLA Badar Sayeed will appear before the commission on Thursday.
