Rs 14 crore for infrastructure at Food and Dairy college, says Minister
In an effort to improve the infrastructure at the College of Food and Dairy Technology, the State government has sanctioned Rs 14 crore, said Animal Husbandry Minister Udumalai K Radhakrishnan.

After inspecting the institute, which comes under Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on Monday, the minister said that the college was imparting training to youth as well as farmers to help them set up their own business and improve their livelihood.
He enquired about the various courses offered by the college and employment opportunities available for the students.
The Minister also discussed about the research activities being carried out to create a ‘Healthy India’ under the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board of the Central Government.
Under this scheme, entrepreneurs and unemployed youth were given free training in manufacturing protein, enriched noodles, millet ice cream and chocolate yogurt. He also inspected the food processing unit set up in the college for this purpose.
The Minister also inspected the exam halls and labs that were being constructed on the campus. Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University VC C Balachandran and college principal T Baskaran accompanied the minister during the inspection.
