Man booked for threatening friend’s wife with video

Police said Pandian (28) of Veera Reddy Palayam, worked in a company run by his friend at Puthukaligoundanur in Salem district. As both were friends, the latter invited Pandian to his house frequently. Some days ago, Pandian went to his friend’s house when he was not there and hearing his friend’s wife bathing, he secretly filmed her on his cell phone.

He threatened to upload the video on social media and demanded her to have an extra marital affair with him. Shocked, the girl informed her husband and father after which Pandian returned to his home town Veera Reddy Palayam.

Annoyed at the girl’s refusal to oblige him, Pandian then asked her to come to his house, failing which he threatened to upload the film on WhatsApp.

The girl accompanied by her father arrived at Pandian’s house on Tuesday where a heated argument ensued between him and the girl’s father. Pandian also attacked girl after which she lodged a police complaint. Ariyur police arrested Pandian and erased the video from his cell phone and jailed him.
