Cop’s motorbike along with another stolen in city

Police are on the lookout for unidentified persons who stole two bikes, including one belonging to a policeman, in two different incidents in the city on Friday.

Police said Saran Anand of Shastri Nagar, who had gone to his friend’s house in Kottur, had parked his bike in front of the house. But when he came back after a few hours, he found that the bike was missing.

CCTV footage from the apartment showed a man clad in a blue shirt breaking the side lock of the bike and pushing it away. Kotturpuram police have registered a case and further investigation is on. Police said the thieves first check the area for any CCTV cameras.

They wear a helmet to cover their faces if there the area is under CCTV surveillance.

In the second case, Jayaprakash (38), a head constable attached to the Anna Nagar police station, had parked his bike in front of his house on Samy Street in Triplicane on Friday night. When he came looking for the bike on Saturday morning, he found that the bike is missing.

Based on Jayaprakash’s complaint the Ice House police have registered a case.
