Seven die in two road accidents in Dindigul, Theni districts

In the first incident, an omni bus from Kottayam to Bengaluru, when it was nearing Thammanampatti in Dindigul district, skid off the road and fell into a pit. In the incident, Jijumon Jose of Kottayam died on the spot. On seeing the accident, Saji, driver of a mini-lorry, stopped his vehicle and got involved in the rescue effort. When the rescue bid was under way another omni bus, from Kanniyakumari to Bengaluru, too skid and hit those involved in the operation. In the incident, Saji and another person died on the spot. Also, 25 bus passengers suffered injuries.

In the second incident, four persons died in a1 road accident in Theni district. The incident happened in Thimmarasanayakanur Kanavai when the front tyre of a car burst and it dashed against a van. In the incident, Jeyalakshmi, Sudha, Ramar and Chellamuthu died on the spot and 27 people suffered injuries.
