The disclosure from the Dairy Development Minister Rajenthra Bhalaji came during the debate on Dairy development by IUML legislator KAM Muhammed Abu Backer.

The Minister noted that Aavin has already appointed its agents to the countries such as Malaysia, Britain, United Arab Emirate, Hong Kong, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Oman, Africa, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, and Mauritius.

“Aavin has scripted history by its export of first tranche of milk amounting to 84,000 litres of tetra packs to Singapore,”he said.

Abu Backer sought the attention of the government to the fact that the government should expand its footprint to states and countries where Tamils live in large numbers and cater to them.

“We have a large number of Tamil populations living in Maharashtra and also in West Asian countries. These people would benefit if Aavin is made available in these locations,” he added. In reply, the Minister noted that the agency has already completed identifying and finalising of agents for the said 15 countries.

“The legislator has asked for sale in Maharashtra. I am glad to inform the Assembly that Aavin is already made its presence West Bengal and Telengana. We have agents in these states. We will identify more agents in other states including Maharashtra. The expansion of Aavin would be done in such a way that it remains omnipresent across India soon and its milk and milk products made available across the country,” Rajenthra Bhalaji said.

He assured Abu Backer that his request is already under consideration of the agency and the same would be fulfilled soon.
