Muhilan, in a statement, said the police firing in which 13 innocent protesters had died is a violation of human rights and it should be condemned. However, the state government has not taken any action against the policemen who killed the protesters and so he demanded criminal action on those responsible for the deaths.
Also, the state government should take responsibility for the firing incident and should step down immediately, he said.
He had also said the state government had passed a government order for permanent closure of Sterlite Copper but it is of no use and it is only to cheat the people.
He further demanded that the state government withdraw all the 132 fake cases filed against 1.25 lakh anti-Koodankulam plant protesters and to follow the court order in removing the nuclear waste from Koodankulam.
The nuclear waste is highly radioactive and would stay so for 48,000 years and so it should be dumped in a safe place, said Muhilan.
