Woman among three held with 220 kg ganja in Kovai
Police arrested three persons including a woman and seized nearly 220 kilograms of ganja in Coimbatore during a vehicle check on Tuesday.

A police team involved in a vehicle check intercepted a car on Neelambur bypass road.
An inspection of the vehicle revealed that there were about eight bags of ganja inside the car. Police identified the accused persons as Sivaraj Nayak, 27, Sampath Panjara, 28 and Lakshmi Sahara, 27, all natives of Rajasthan and was smuggling ganja from Andhra Pradesh.
“They were planning to take the ganja to Kerala, but were caught before. The smugglers had used a fake number board for the car,” police said.
Police also seized three cell phones, Rs 10 lakh in cash, besides 220 kilograms of ganja.
