Following his deposition, George was asked to reappear on Thursday along with Apollo doctors Raj Mathangi and Vikram. Jayalalithaa’s assistant Poongundran and IAS officer Ramalingam have been asked to appear on June 16.
Poongundran was asked to reappear after his last deposition on June 2.
Over 50 individuals have deposed before the commission thus far and cross-examination by Sasikala’s counsel Raja Senthurpandian is also underway simultaneously.
Jayalalithaa spent 75 days at the hospital following her admission on September 22, 2016 after she took ill at her Poes Garden residence. She passed away on December 5, 2016.
The enquiry commission was instituted on September 24, 2017 and was due to submit its final report on December 24. Since then, extensions have been sought twice with the possibility of the probe continuing until the end of this year.
After prolonged furore surrounding the secrecy with which her hospitalisation was treated, the Government formed the one-man enquiry commission to probe the matter.
