According to Kalasapakkam police Velu (50) of Nayambadi Colony near Kadaladi, suddenly disappeared seven months ago.

Velu was facing more than 45 theft cases in Tiruvannamalai, Kalasapakkam and Kadaladi police station limits.

For a long time, cops were struggling to get a breakthrough in the case. Meanwhile, a couple of days ago, police picked up his lover Periyanayagi (45) of Pathiavadi village near Kalasapakkam, for questioning in the case.

During interrogation, Periyanagi told police that she was in relationship with Velu for some time.

Later, she developed an affair with Palani (60) of Gudiyattam in Vellore district. Velu, who came to know about Periyanagi’s affair with Palani, refused to end his relationship with her.

Irked by this, Periyanayagi and Palani decided to kill Velu. As per the plan, Palani and Periyanayagi asked Velu to come to her house where they bludgeoned him to death and buried his body in Cheyyar river. After the revelation by Periyanayagi, Palani was also arrested by the police.

After Periyanayagi and Palani showed the spot, the body of Velu was exhumed on Thursday. Further investigations are on.
