Four involved in chain snatching caught after chase in Arakkonam
A four-member gang involved in various crimes was nabbed after a chase by police near Arakkonam on Wednesday night.

A special team, which was conducting a vehicle check near RS Gate in Arakkonam, tried to stop two wheelers. But, the riders managed to flee the spot.
The police team then chased the two-wheelers for some distance and caught four persons.
During a thorough check, police seized a 12.5 sovereign chain and 5 machetes from them. Subsequent inquiries revealed that the chain belonged to one Vikas resident of Gandhi Road and it was snatched from the victim on June 14.
Vikas had earlier lodged a complaint with the police in connection with the snatching of his chain. Acting on his complaint, a special team was formed to nab the culprits.
As part of the operation, the special team was conducting a vehicle check at RS Gate when the four culprits were caught.
Following their confession, the four persons, identified as Satish (23), Baskar (24), Ajith (19) and Kamesh (18), all from different localities of Arakkonam town, were arrested and remanded to custody.
Acting on the leads given by the arrested four, police have launched a hunt for their associate, who has gone into hiding.
Further investigations are on to find out if the gang was involved in other cases in the region.
