K Balakrishnan, state secretary, CPM, said in a statement on Sunday that the government was fomenting the police department to tackle the protest by force and arrest the agitators on false charges. “To condemn the oppression, the state CPM unit will continuously protest to give up the Green Corridor. On behalf of Tamil Nadu Farmers Associations, we will hold black-flag protest in five districts- Kancheepuram, Tiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Salem. Such flags will be hoisted in all the households in these districts,” he said.

Meanwhile, PMK has hit out the state stating that it is cheating the farmers in the name of huge compensation. PMK founder Ramadoss said, “Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is keen to execute the project in his home town and Salem Collector Rohini has announced the compensation of Rs 9.04 crore per acre. But, this is not true.”
