Speaking at the district level review meeting of the women’s wing and youth wing of Rajini Makkal Mandram in Madurai, he said, “Ever since the announcement was made by Rajinikanth on December 31 last year, the politics at state level has been revolving around him.
You only have to look at the happenings in the last few months for proof. The people have made their will clear. They want a chief minister like Kamaraj.”
He added that soon there would be more clarity on Rajinikanth’s official party launch as well as the name of his outfit. Raju also stated that the Rajini Makkal Mandram will continue functioning actively until its transition.
Since the 67-year-old’s announcement, the fan clubs of Rajinikanth across the state have been organised under a nodal body, the Rajini Makkal Mandram.
Over the past months, the recruitment of members and appointment of office-bearers for various posts have been completed under the supervision of state secretary Raju Mahalingam and chief co-ordinator VM Sudhakar.
A disciplinary action committee has also been constituted to look into any violations by the members.
