6 killed in two accidents in Krishnagiri district
Six persons were killed in two separate accidents on a single day in Krishnagiri district on Thursday.

In the first incident, three persons including a couple died after their car crashed into a stationed tanker lorry in Krishnagiri district in the early morning hours.
The deceased persons were identified as Gopalappa, a native of Hyderabad who was working as a manager in a private spinning mill, his wife R Rama (50) and Vasudevraj (45) who was also working as a manager in the same mill near Hosur. Two others, Meenakshinathan (45) from Madurai, working in the same mill, and car driver Thirumalai (35) from Kanimangalam suffered injuries.
They were returning after a visit to Tiruvannamalai temple for a ‘girivalam’, when the accident happened at 3:30 am on the Hosur-Bagalur road at Mullai Nagar. As a result of the collision, Gopalappa, his wife and Vasudevraj succumbed to injuries on the spot, while the driver and Meenakshinathan suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Hosur government hospital and later taken to a private hospital.
The bodies of deceased persons have been sent for post mortem at the government hospital.
The Hudco police in Hosur have registered a case and further inquiries are on.
In a similar yet separate incident, three unidentified men died on the spot after their car rammed into a stationed LPG tanker lorry near Shoolagiri on the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway on Thursday evening. The driver of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the stationed vehicle resulting in their death on spot. The Shoolagiri police have registered a case and further inquiries are on.
