A woman approached the Thanjavur district Collector on Wednesday to help her bring back the body of her son who died in Kuwait, to perform his last rites in her native village Injikollai near Kumbakonam. Indrani, wife of Ganapathy of Injikkollai near Kumbakonam, on Wednesday approached the Collector and presented a petition, in which she stated that her son G Rajaraman (27), who was working as a driver in Kuwait, came back a few months back and got married here two months ago. After the marriage he went back to work in Kuwait on May 25 this year. Meanwhile, on June 8, 2018, the family received a call from Kuwait, informing her that Rajaraman was dead. She initially contacted the agent who had sent him there. They had promised to bring back the body but nothing materialised even after a month. Therefore, she approached the Collector and sought the help of the government to bring back the body to perform his last rites.
