Tamil Nadu government most corrupt, declares Amit Shah

In a clear signal that the BJP was in no mood for a possible alliance with the AIADMK in the 2019 LS elections, BJP national president Amit Shah said here on Monday that Tamil Nadu was the most corrupt state in the country and the law and order situation was unsatisfactory.

“The BJP alliance will be decided in October based on the objective of driving out corruption from Tamil Nadu and giving a government which maintains law and order,” he said at Injambakkam.

The announcement comes barely months after BJP-appointed Governor Banwarilal Purohit gave a clean chit to the state claiming that he was ‘satisfied’ with the EPS regime, particularly the law and order situation.

Shah also hit out at the DMK and Congress questioning their contribution to the state during the previous rule at the Centre. His criticism of the Dravidian majors comes at a time when actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan have openly expressing their interest to run for the CM’s post.
