Seeking opinion on joint polls, not imposing it: State BJP chief

Addressing reporters in the city, she said till 1971, elections to all the assemblies were held along with the Parliament elections. Frequent elections to the assemblies would divert the attention of people and simultaneous polls would save the expenses. 

“We are only seeking opinions and let the state governments respond to it. Merely seeking opinions on a good move need not be considered wrong,” she said. She said the CBSE should punish those who translated  the NEET question paper with too many mistakes as the CBSE itself should not have chosen such persons for translation. “Such errors cause mental stress to the students besides spoiling their future,” she said.

“A method should be found so that the students who had already obtained medical seats were not affected by providing admissions to those who took the examination in Tamil medium.” The missing of several temple idols indicated the failure of the AIADMK and DMK governments in the last 50 years, she said and appealed to the state government to allow DIG Pon Manickavel to function independently since he is functioning without selfish motives. The BJP leader said her party had received 55 lakh calls during its membership enrolment through a missed call campaign and added 35 lakh of them had been verified and further verification is on.
