Speaking to reporters at the airport here, she said “The BJP will choose its partners for the Parliament elections and decide on the alliance in October.”

“I cannot answer those people who had forgotten that the previous Congress government massacred Tamils in Sri Lanka,” she added reacting to an interview of Ramadoss to a Tamil news channel.

Ramadoss had said the BJP government at the Centre had done nothing in the last four years and he would give zero marks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s performance. The PMK was an ally of the BJP in the 2014 Parliament elections along with actor Vijayakanth’s DMDK and MDMK.

The BJP and PMK had a clash after the saffron party announced a conference ‘Mandhiramaalai’ to bring Vanniyars to the party. The two parties had a fight over setting up of the AIIMS when PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss claimed credit for the project. The verbal fight later descended to personal attacks from both the sides.

Tamilisai’s response too comes a day after Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran’s assertion that he would not align with the BJP and lead a secular alliance in Tamil Nadu.

The BJP leader also came down heavily on Congress leader Sashi Tharoor’s statement that India would become a Hindu Pakistan if the BJP returned to power again. Describing Tharoor’s comments as ‘mischievous,’ she said Muslims are protected under the BJP government.
