Considering Ravi’s plea seeking the documents and the investigation report, Justice Nagaraj issued the direction and postponed hearing of the case to August 9.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tiruchengode Division, who was probing the murder of Dalit youth Gokulraj, was found hanging in her quarters on September 18, 2015. Her father, and her friend K Maheswari alleged she had taken the extreme step due to harassment by her seniors. On September 19, the State government appealed that both the cases be transferred to the CB-CID. The case was then transferred following a court order.
Nearly three years after the cop’s death, the CBI submitted a report on April 16 stating its plan to drop the case due to lack of sufficient evidence.
